So this is it: 34 apps across 10 categories and every inhabited continent, each with a straight answer to the only questions that matter. What is it for. Who is on it. Does it work where I live.

Because a gay app is not only a grid. The app that maps a safe bathroom in a strange city, the one that gets you hormones without a lecture, the one that tells a nineteen-year-old in a small town that other people like them exist — those matter at least as much, and they are invisible on every "best gay dating apps" listicle on the internet.

No adult-content apps or cruising platforms, and no links to them. That is a deliberate rule, not squeamishness: it is what keeps Gay App List available on the App Store and Google Play, which is where the people looking for this list actually are.

Every description is editorial. Nobody pays to be listed, no entry is sponsored, and we take nothing when you tap through. Features and pricing change constantly, so each listing links out to the source rather than pretending to be a spec sheet.
